Corfu is located in the Ionina sea in the nothwestern corner of Greece. It is the island where Ulysses met Nausicaa. Corfu is mostly known for its rich culture and the stunning natural landscape.

The Old Town is a Unesco World Heritage Site and strongly influenced by the Venetian style. What mostly characterise it, are the teraccota-coloured old houses and the narrow cobbled streets.

Museum of Asian Art

Housed in St. Michael and George Palace, this museum is dedicated to the art and antiquities from Asia. All four collections include unique pieces, mostly donated by private collectors.

Achillion Palace

Also known as Sissi’s palace, since it was built for the Empress of Austria Elizabeth, it houses a number of sculptures with the most characteristic being the one of Achilles. At the time we visited the Palace only the Imperial Gardens were open due to restoration work on the inside but even like that, it totally worh it!

Capodistrias Museum

It is housed in one of the Capodistrias family’s country estate and it includes the largest collection of the governor’s personal belongings, documents, furniture and more. The café at the garden is a place of relaxation and rest for the visitors.

This cute place is ideal either for a morning coffee or for early drinks. Located in the Old Town, is a great spot to take a break from exploring its treasures and maybe enjoy a local beer.
